Iowa Family Lawyer - Iowa Criminal Defense Attorney

buildingMark Olberding, owner of the Olberding Law Office, is not your typical attorney. Olberding understands that with such a broad spectrum of legal issues, people are looking for some one who understands their specific needs - not a lawyer that takes any case that happens to walk through the door. Mark is a General Practitioner with a specialization in Family and Criminal Law.

Most people, when they think of Family law, they think only of divorce and everything that goes with that, custody, visitation and property division. Family law is broader than that, it also, at least at the Olberding Law Office, involves:

  • adoption from placement of the child through the final adoption decree
  • establishing paternity
  • establishing child support
  • setting up guardianships for children so they can live with people other than their biological parents
  • termination of parental rights
  • most Juvenile Court actions

I have been practicing law in Central Iowa for 17 years. During that time I have handled hundreds of family law cases. I have also worked with a lot of adoptive parents. As an adoptive parent myself, I feel a special connection to helping people through the adoptive process.

I practice primarily in Story County, however, I also take cases in Marshall, Boone, Jasper and Hardin counties. I do not take cases in Polk County.

All potential clients are urged to make their own independent investigation and evaluation of any lawyer being considered. This notice is required by rule of the Supreme Court of Iowa.
